Product Engagement Lead

Role Overview

We are looking for an Engagement Lead with a product-first mindset and a strong background in technology delivery to help shape and scale our growing portfolio of tools and client solutions. This is a hands-on, outcome-oriented role with responsibility across three key areas:

  • Developing and scaling our own proprietary software tools (two currently in progress)

  • Designing internal productivity tools, ideally powered by AI, to support high-performing teams

  • Leading the creation and customization of client-facing software, data, and AI-based solutions

You will work cross-functionally with internal teams and clients, combining strong product instincts with delivery know-how to bring new tools to life and ensure successful outcomes.

This role is being hired on a contract-to-hire basis, though we would consider full-time employment for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive the strategy and delivery of proprietary software tools from MVP to scale

  • Build internal platforms and workflows that improve team performance and leverage AI capabilities

  • Design and deliver client-facing products across software, data, and AI categories

  • Customize and integrate features on top of third-party platforms to meet client-specific needs

  • Act as the primary liaison for client engagements, managing stakeholder expectations and communications

  • Translate business goals into clear product plans and development priorities

  • Define and track KPIs to ensure product performance aligns with strategic objectives

  • Operate across both agile and waterfall methodologies, applying the best fit for each project

  • Lead cross-functional teams through all phases of product development and delivery

  • Proactively identify risks, dependencies, and trade-offs to maintain momentum and impact

    Who You Are

    • You have 4 to 7 years of experience in a product management, consulting, or technology delivery role

    • You have experience building or managing delivery of software, AI, or data tools — ideally across multiple industries or for external customers

    • You bring familiarity with agriculture, food, or supply chain industries (a plus, but not required)

    • You are fluent in agile and waterfall ways of working and know how to lead teams in either

    • You are a strategic thinker who also delivers with a bias toward action

    • You are organized, articulate, and comfortable leading through ambiguity

    • You know how to manage cross-functional teams and stakeholders with different priorities

    • You are excited about emerging technology and look for opportunities to apply it internally and externally

    • You’re experienced in product discovery, roadmapping, user feedback loops, and delivering working solutions

    Additional Information

    • We are headquartered out of Chicago, Illinois, but operate remotely with a light client travel (1-2 weeks/ month)
    • Contract-to-hire ideal, with potential for full-time employment. For the right candidate, we would consider full-time.
    • Full-time or flexible hours considered, based on experience and fit.
    • We will ask for a reference from a recent boss or advisor as part of the process.
    • Compensation range: $75–$100 per hour, depending on experience and fit.  Full-time conversion between $125K and $150K plus medical benefits
